Luxury mattress brand to establish a state-of-the-art facility, creating jobs and boosting India’s premium sleep market.

According to a news article in Financial Express, Slumberzone New Zealand, a leading luxury mattress manufacturer, is making its foray into India’s growing ₹20,000 crore ($2.5 billion) mattress industry with a ₹100 crore investment. The company is setting up its first manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, aiming to meet the increasing demand for high-quality sleep solutions in the country.
Founded in 2005 by Ranjay Sikka, Slumberzone is the third-largest player in New Zealand’s sleep industry, generating annual revenue of over ₹200 crore. The upcoming Hyderabad unit, set to be operational by March 2026, will have a production capacity of 1,000 mattresses per day and create employment for 200-250 skilled and unskilled workers.
The expansion was officially announced at a New Delhi event attended by New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who praised the move as a step towards strengthening trade ties between India and New Zealand. He emphasized that such initiatives align with India’s ‘Make in India’ vision, fostering local manufacturing and global brand collaborations.
Ranjay Sikka, Managing Director of Slumberzone NZ, expressed confidence in the Indian market, stating, “We are bringing world-class sleep solutions to Indian consumers while positioning Slumberzone as a global brand.”
